This page gives an idea of the breadth of the Kyokushin tree and its descendants. While the Flavours Page simply lists the offshoots, this page shows the spreading of the branches and the falling of the fruits. It should be noted that the branchings do not so much show how one style derived from another as much as they show who was whose student. For example, while David Cook was both Mas Oyama's and Steve Arneil's student, he took his current direction from Ashihara, and hence he is shown as being "descended" from Ashihara.

Number in Brackets (a/b) : a = highest grade under IKO (i.e. while Mas Oyama was alive), b = current grade in current organisation
